New ‘Captain Marvel’ open casting call underway

The Marvel Studios / Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures feature film “Captain Marvel” is currently filming in the Los Angeles area, and the production is seeking males and females who look to be in their 20s to 50s to portray military, government types, maintenance workers. Filming is scheduled to take place May 14 through May 16 at Shaver Lake near Fresno, CA. The casting call details are posted below. “Captain Marvel” centers on Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Set in the 1990s, “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This is the twenty-first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Starring in Captain Marvel is Academy Award winner Brie Larson playing Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel. Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck are directing from their own screenplay, with additional script contributions by Meg LeFauve, Nicole Perlman, Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Liz Flahive, and Carly Mensch. Producers are Kevin Feige, Lars P. Winther, with Mary Livanos as associate producer. Executive producers are Victoria Alonso, Louis D’Esposito, Stan Lee, and Jonathan Schwartz. DP is Ben Davis. First AD is Lars P. Winther.

“Captain Marvel” is scheduled to be released in theaters on March 8, 2019, in IMAX and 3D. This project is currently using the working title “Open World.”

The feature film “Captain Marvel” is seeking the following for background actor roles, stand-ins, and photo-doubles. These are fully paid roles, both union and non-union talent are welcome to submit. There is no previous experience necessary. These roles will shoot on May 14 through May 16, 2018 at Shaver Lake, CA near Fresno. You must be able to work in the area and available for all days.
