‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’ Part 1 and 2 casting day players and extras throughout filming

NOTE: Casting for day players, extras, stand-ins, and size doubles for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 & 2 will continue throughout filming. The updated extras casting information is available here.

“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” has completed filming the Brazil scenes and has begun principal photography in Baton Rouge. Vancouver, BC will be next. There is a very large amount of filming that takes place in Louisiana and Vancouver due to the large tax credits that these locations offers the studios. Louisiana offers a 30% transferable incentive for total in-state expenditures related to the production of a motion picture. The budget on both parts of Breaking Dawn will be substantially greater than the previous installments in the series, therefore Summit Entertainment will benefit greatly by filming in Louisiana. Vancouver shooting will likely consist of outdoor locations required for a number of Breaking Dawn settings, while filming in Baton Rouge will take place inside Raleigh Studios at The Celtic Media Centre.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn will be released as two separate movies, Breaking Dawn Part I has a release date of November 18, 2011, and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 has been set for November 16th, 2012. Director Bill Condon will shoot the two films back to back.

A Summit Entertainment representative stated that Breaking Dawn I and II will not be filmed in 3-D. A 3-D film can be created in two ways. One is to process the film in post-production editing using CGI for 3-D effects. The other method is to shoot the film with special 3D cameras, such as the film Avatar was shot using Sony HDC-F950 3-D cameras. It is still possible that 3-D effects could be added in post production to Breaking Dawn.

As per the Screen Actors Guild contract, shooting on Breaking Dawn Part I and Part II is running through April 19, 2011. The Louisiana filming will run from the second half of November through the end of December, 2010. Production then will move to Vancouver and film from January 11, 2011 through April, 2011. Summit Entertainment has stated that there could be “minor schedule tweaks” due to the large size of the cast, and the extended length of shooting.

The film’s day players (smaller speaking roles), extras, stand-ins, and photo doubles will be hired NEAR THE SHOOTING LOCATIONS throughout filming.

Story:

In “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Parts 1 & 2”, the newfound married bliss of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) is cut short when a series of betrayals and misfortunes threatens to destroy their world. After their wedding, Bella and Edward travel to Rio de Janeiro for their honeymoon, where they finally give in to their passions. Bella soon discovers she is pregnant, and during a nearly fatal childbirth, Edward finally fulfills her wish to become immortal. But the arrival of their remarkable daughter, Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy), sets in motion a perilous chain of events that pits the Cullens and their allies against the Volturi, the fearsome council of vampire leaders, setting the stage for an all-out battle. The suspenseful and deeply romantic Breaking Dawn continues the epic tale of supernatural fantasy and passionate love.
