Walt Disney Studios and Lucasfilm in association with PLT Productions and Ram Bergman Productions are set to begin filming “Star Wars: Episode IX” in July, 2017. Casting directors are setting up auditions for new lead and supporting roles. All actors must have legal eligibility to work in the entertainment industry in London and in the United Kingdom. Details below. Filming will be taking place at the Pinewood Studios in London, England and surrounding areas.
Two-time Saturn Award nominee Colin Trevorrow will direct from a screenplay that he wrote with Independent Spirit Awards winner Derek Connolly, based on a story treatment by Directors Guild of America WGA Award winner Rian Johnson and characters by four-time Academy Award nominee George Lucas. Eight-time Academy Award nominee Kathleen Kennedy will produce along with two-time Film Independent Spirit Awards nominee Ram Bergman, and four-time Primetime Emmy Award winner Tony To. Also producing is Jason McGatlin and Michelle Rejwan. 1st AD is Jamie Christopher. Academy Award nominee John Schwartzman is DP. “Star Wars: Episode IX” will hit theaters on May 24, 2019 with Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures handling domestic and international distribution.
