Richard Linklater film ‘Where’d You Go, Bernadette’ casting extras in Seattle

The feature film “Where’d You Go, Bernadette” is now in production in the Seattle, WA area and the local casting director is accepting email submissions from talent interested in working on the film as fully paid background performers. The comedy drama film is being directed by Richard Linklater from a screenplay that he wrote with Holly Gent Palmo, Vincent Palmo Jr., Michael H. Weber and Scott Neustadter. It is based on the novel of the same name by Maria Semple. It stars Cate Blanchett, Billy Crudup, Kristen Wiig, Judy Greer, Laurence Fishburne, Troian Bellisario and James Urbaniak. It is scheduled to be released on May 11, 2018, by Annapurna Pictures.

The following is the extras casting information from casting director Denise Gibbs for the feature film “Where’d You Go, Bernadette”:

We are in need of a lot of background extras to fill scenes. 24 Extras are needed for Monday, August 28; 110 Extras are needed for Tuesday, August 29; and 120 Extras are needed for Wednesday, August 30. Please see description, details and submission instructions below. Availability will be key to know what people are available for what days.

PROJECT: SAG-AFTRA Feature Film, Theatrical Release
PRODUCTION: Twenty Mile Productions, LLC
DIRECTOR: Richard Linklater
FILMING LOCATIONS: In and around the Seattle/Puget Sound area
FILMING DATES: Monday, Aug. 28; Tuesday, Aug. 29; and Wednesday, August 30. Most extras will work one day.
AVAILABILITY: Must have all day/all evening availability. Call times and wrap times vary. Could be very early morning to very late at night.
OPEN to union and non-union background extras
SAG-AFTRA does not cover theatrical extras in the Pacific NW. But since this is a SAG-AFTRA project, union members are allowed to work on this project if they are interested. All extras are paid the non-union rate. No union paperwork will be done for background extras.
COMPENSATION: $15/hr. with an 8 hour guarantee.
PLEASE NOTE: For clarification, an 8 hour guarantee means, that even though most extras may work 12+ hours on set, if you are needed less than 8 hours, you still get paid for the full 8 hours. If you work longer than 8 hours, you still get paid the hourly wage of $15/hr. for those hours worked. An 8 hour guarantee does NOT mean you can leave set after 8 hours. Extras can not arrive late and can not leave early. A guarantee just means you are guaranteed at least 8 hours of pay, even if you end up working less than 8 hours.
PLEASE have reliable transportation.
MUST be 18 years or older. No minors.
MUST be legal to work in the U.S.
IDENTIFICATION NEEDED FOR PAYROLL PAPERWORK: You will be filling out payroll paperwork on set that includes an I-9. You will need to have two forms of ID (or a passport) to show to production, to be able to fill out this paperwork and work on set. You will also need to know your Social Security number.

34 EXTRAS WITH VEHICLES – Male and Female, ages 18-60. All ethnicities. MUST own your own vehicle, have current driver’s license and insurance. Description of vehicles needed: Mostly mid to upper class vehicles, no white, no hot red, no bright colored vehicles. Please submit a photo of your vehicle. Additional $25 for bringing your vehicle.

26 PEDESTRIANS – Male and Female. Ages 18-60. All ethnicities.

43 AIRPORT PASSENGERS – Male and Female. Ages 18-60. All ethnicities. MUST bring own luggage with luggage tag. Additional $5 for bringing luggage.


40 FEMALE RESTAURANT PATRONS – Ages 30s-40. Female, all ethnicities.

40 MALE RESTAURANT PATRONS – Ages 30s-40s, Male, all ethnicities.

20 OLDER FEMALE RESTAURANT PATRONS – Ages 50-60s, Female, all ethnicities.

24 OLDER MALE RESTAURANT PATRONS – Ages 50-60s, Male, all ethnicities.

15 TEENAGER RESTAURANT PATRONS – (Must be at least 18 years of age, but looks younger), ages 18-20 (look young for their age), Male and Female, all ethnicities.
