The open casting calls will be taking place in New York City and Orlando, FL. The lead roles being cast are Maria, Anita, Bernardo, Tony and Riff. “West Side Story” is a remake of the 1961 film about rival gangs in New York City. Three-time Academy Award winner Steven Spielberg is directing “West Side Story” from an adapted screenplay written by two-time Academy Award nominee Tony Kushner based on the book by two-time Academy Award nominee Arthur Laurents. Spielberg is also producing along with Kevin McCollum and two-time Academy Award nominee Kristie Macosko Krieger.
