Update 9-17-2013: Three new open casting calls are now scheduled for extras available to work in the Cape Girardeau and Scott county areas of Southeast Missouri. Details below. Film Crew email submission details are also now available below.

Reese Witherspoon’s production company Pacific Standard and New Regency are in pre-production on the 20th Century Fox thriller feature film ‘Gone Girl’ based on the novel of the same name by Gillian Flynn. The Primetime Emmy Award nominated casting director is holding auditions in Los Angeles for lead roles, supporting roles, and day players. The photo-doubles and stand-ins for the principal actors, as well as general extras and featured background actors will be cast throughout production. Shooting will take place in Los Angeles and Missouri from mid-October, 2013 through February, 2014.

“Gone Girl” centers on Nick and Amy Dunne. On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, on Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary, Amy disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media – as well as Amy’s fiercely doting parents – Nick parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he’s definitely bitter, but is he really a killer? As the cops close in, every couple in town is soon wondering how well they know the one that they love. With his twin sister, Margo, at his side, Nick stands by his innocence.

Starring in “Gone Girl” is two-time Academy Award winner Ben Affleck playing the role of Nick Dunne. Since winning his Oscar for “Argo”, Affleck has been busy acting. He recently played the role of Ivan Block in the 20th Century Fox film “Runner Runner” starring opposite Gemma Arterton and Justin Timberlake. He will also be producer/writer/director/actor on the upcoming Warner Bros. feature film “Live by Night”. Also starring in “Gone Girl” is British Independent Film Awards winner Rosamund Pike in the role of Amy Dunne. Pike came into notoriety when she played Bond girl Miranda Frost in “Die Another Day”. She currently has four films in post-production – “A Long Way Down” with Aaron Paul, “What We Did on Our Holiday” with David Tennant, “Return to Sender” with Rumor Willis, and “Hector and the Search for Happiness” with Simon Pegg.

Two-time Academy Award nominee David Fincher will direct “Gone Girl” from a screenplay written by Gillian Flynn, which she adapted from her own novel. Fincher earned his Oscar nods in the Best Director category for “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” and his 2010 film “The Social Network”. Other notable directorial credits include “Se7en,” “The Game,” “Panic Room,” and “Zodiac”. Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon will produce “Gone Girl” under the banner of her production company Pacific Standard. Also producing is Pacific Standard’s Bruna Papandrea along with Saturn Award nominee Leslie Dixon. Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation will handle domestic distribution.
