Disney conducting talent search for Artemis Fowl lead role

The Walt Disney Pictures science fiction fantasy feature film “Artemis Fowl” is conducting a talent search seeking an Irish descent boy between 9 – 13 years of age to play the lead role. All actors must have legal eligibility to work in the entertainment industry in London and in the United Kingdom. There are three open casting calls scheduled, and talent that can not attend are able to submit to the casting office email address posted below.

“Artemis Fowl” is a live-action feature film adaptation based on the first and second installments of Eoin Colfer’s best-selling children’s series. The story centers on Artemis Fowl the 2nd, a young Irish criminal mastermind, who kidnaps the fairy LEPrecon officer Holly Short for ransom to fund rescuing his father. Once a transaction is made, they go onto a hunt for the evil pixie Opal Koboi and rush to save Artemis Fowl senior from the Arctic.

Five-time Academy Award nominee Kenneth Branagh will direct “Artemis Fowl” from an adapted screenplay written by two-time Saturn Award nominee Michael Goldenberg and two-time Gold Hugo Award nominee Conor McPherson. Branagh will also produce along with Academy Award winner Harvey Weinstein and Judy Hofflund. Executive Producers are two-time Academy Award winner Robert De Niro and two-time Christopher Awards winner Jane Rosenthal.

ARTEMIS FOWL II – Male, 9 – 13 years of age. Inquisitive, with both academic and emotional intelligence. Artemis is highly perceptive and good at reading people. Most importantly, Artemis is warmhearted and has a great sense of humour. He has fun in whatever situation he is in and loves life.
