Columbia Pictures online open casting call for “The Smurfs” seeking boy and girl for Lead Roles

*** Casting has been completed ***

Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation are currently conducting an international talent search for an 8-10 year old girl and a 13-16 year old boy to star in the upcoming big screen movie “The Smurfs”.

Raja Gosnell has signed on to direct the film. Gosnell is best known for directing “Scooby-Doo” and “Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed” in addition to last year’s “Beverly Hills Chihuahua,” all of which combined live actors and settings with photo-realistic animated talking animals.

“The Smurfs” will also be a live action/animated hybrid film and will be released in 3D and 2D formats on Dec. 17, 2010.

To be considered for the film, go to the following website and follow the steps to upload your audition video:

ALL ActorCast submissions will be reviewed by the show’s casting directors. It is free to audition. Smurfscasting.com is the ONLY website that you can upload your audition video for this project, so beware of any other website’s claims of casting for this pilot. If you are selected from your audition video, you will be flown to either Los Angeles or New York to screen test. Filming begins in New York City in October, 2009.
