‘The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner’ not to be made into separate film

The new Twilight Saga short novel “The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner” not to be made into a film. Before Stephenie Meyer decided to release “Bree Tanner” to the public, this short story was lent to “Eclipse” screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg to help her understand how Victoria (to be played by Bryce Dallas Howard in the upcoming film) created her army of newborn vampires, and to provide details of the vampire feeding frenzy in Seattle. Therefore elements of “Bree Tanner” are incorporated into “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”.

The book will be released in hardcover on June 5, 2010. One dollar from the first 1.5 million copies sold in the United States will be donated to the American Red Cross International Response Fund to help ease catastrophes such as the recent earthquakes in Chile and Haiti. It’s easy to do the math, and that is a considerable donation. Many thanks to Stephenie Meyers.

A paperback version of “The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner” will then be released to the public on July 5, 2010 for free on the website www.breetanner.com.

The novella was originally intended to be included in the upcoming book “The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide”, but when Meyer’s publisher informed her it was far too lengthy for inclusion, they decided to release it as a separate book instead.

“The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” will premiere on June 30, 2010. “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” (Part I and Part II) is in pre-production, and no official announcement has been confirmed by Summit Entertainment yet as far as who will direct. There will be numerous roles cast for actors and extras. Breaking Dawn auditions and casting call information is being listed on the following blog post:
