NBC Talent Search for Improv Scholarship Program at The Peoples Improv Theater

*** This scholarship program has expired ***

NBC has officially announced the return of a unique scholarship opportunity with The PIT (Peoples Improv Theater). They are searching for creative talent, particularly talented women and minorities with strong performance skills to study the craft of improvisation.

NBC and The PIT will each sponsor one student for the entire year long program, from Levels 1 through Level 5. Interested students MUST be available to attend every class of the session for which they apply.

A live “Finalists Showcase” will be scheduled in the fall at The PIT. The three 2009/2010 Diversity Scholars will be selected by both The PIT and NBC executives based on their performances at the end of the showcase.

Scholarship recipients should be located in or around New York City. Recipients will be responsible for their own transportation costs to and from New York City for classes, and are expected to attend each class regularly.

*more than 2 absences from a level could mean revocation of the scholarship.

Last years scholarship recipient, Reese Waters, just secured a recurring role on Comedy Central’s Michael and Michael (with Michael Showalter and Michael Ian Black); scholarship recipient, Elaine Marcos appeared on 30 Rock.
