20th Century Fox series ‘Glee’ now accepting video auditions from aspiring talent

The executive producers of ‘Glee’ have begun a nationwide casting search to fill new roles that will be added to the show’s second season. Auditions are open to professionals and amateurs between the ages of 16-26 who are be a legal resident of and/or eligible to work in the United States as of April 26, 2010. You must be available for work in Los Angeles beginning on or around July 1, 2010.

Applicants will be required to choose a song from the official song list, and also tape a personal statement. Click Here for the song list.


Song Performance Video Requirements

Submissions must not exceed the length of the provided track for the chosen song, for the Song Performance. Videos must be submitted in one of the following formats:

avi, asf, dv, wmv, mov, qt, 3g2, 3gp, 3gp2, 3gpp, gsm, mpg, mpeg, mp4, m4v, mp4v, cmp, divx, xvid, 264, rm, rmvs, flv, mkv, ogm.

The Video must not exceed 500MB file size.

Personal Statement Requirements

Applicants will be required to make a personal one-minute video statement consisting of your first name and city, how long you’ve been singing, why you want to be a part of Glee, and/or why someone should rate/comment on your video to help your dream of joining Glee come true. Submissions must not exceed 1 minute for the Personal Statement.

How To Submit Your Video Audition

Visit the Glee Casting Call Website between March 30, 2010 and April 26, 2010 after logging in to your MySpace profile. Follow the instructions and all Submission Requirements and Video Requirements below. Submission must be received by April 26, 2010. Your Submission will not be complete until you have followed the onscreen prompts to record your Submission, made your Submission publicly available, and accepted the Terms and Conditions of Submission.

Production Companies:

Do NOT send photos and resumes to the production companies (they will most likely end up in the trash can), they do not cast the films. They hire casting directors who sort through the thousands of submissions.

Story:

The show focuses on a high school glee club, called “New Directions!”, set within the fictional William McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio. A high-school Spanish teacher (Matthew Morrison) becomes the director of the Glee club, hoping to restore it to its former glory.
