Paramount Pictures "Footloose" Acting Auditions



The big screen remake of the popular 1984 film "Footloose" is currently in pre-production. The film was to be directed by Kenny Ortega of High School Musical fame, however he has pulled out of the project due to "creative differences". Chace Crawford has recently been set to star in the remake, and Julianne Hough has been cast as the female lead. Filming begins in March, 2010 in Atlanta, GA.

Story:

Fundamentalist minister Shaw Moore has spearheaded a ban on dancing in his community. The local teenagers, including Moore's daughter Ariel, chafe against the restriction, but there isn't much that they can do about it within city limits. Enter Chicago expatriate Ren, who likes to dance and doesn't like to take orders.
